  1. Trim any excess fat from the meat, and cut into bite size chunks. Heat the sunflower oil, in a large pan, and add the beef, frying for a few minutes to seal on all sides.
  2. Now add the onions, peppers, paprika, chopped tomatoes, vinegar and 300ml water, bring to the boil. Transfer to a slow cooker and cook on a low Heat for approx 7 hours - make sure you scrape the pan clean to get the juices into the pot.
  3. Slice the baguette into 1.5 cm rounds and brush with olive oil, remove lid from the slow cooker and arrange around the edge of the pot - allow to cook (cover again) for the last hour or so. It should be golden and crisp at the end. Sprinkle with some chives to serve.
