This is such a delicious treat, but so simple to make. Most of these things are store cupboard staples too, so perfect if you just feel like rustling something up.

This is such a delicious treat, but so simple to make. Most of these things are store cupboard staples too, so perfect if you just feel like rustling something up.

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 180°C, grease and line a loaf tin
  2. Now, sift the flour and baking powder into a large mixing bowl, add the remaining cake ingredients and beat together until smooth. Pour the mix into the loaf tin, and bake for about 35-45 mins until cooked. You can double check it is cooked by using a skewer, it should come out clean.
  3. Just before the cake is ready, heat the lemon juice and sugar together. Skewer the cake when baked, then drizzle the lemony syrup all over the cake and watch it soak in. Perfect!
