  1. Preheat the oven to 180c, line the base of an 18cm springform cake tin with grease proof paper, and grease the sides with butter.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in the eggs gradually adding a little bit of flour each time, until all flour and eggs are added.
  3. Now fold in the cocoa, chopped chocolate and pears, add the milk to he mixture and combine well.
  4. Pour the mix into the tin, place it In he oven and bake for about 30 mins. It is particularly good cold, dusted with a little bit of icing sugar.
