Another easy bread recipe which we’ve found :) the kids loved making these as they got to add seeds and personalise their own individual rolls for lunch. Brilliant!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Put flour, sugar, salt and yeast (salt and Yeast at opposite sides) in a mixing bowl, gently mix together with a spoon, or mix on a low setting with your mixer and dough hook.
  2. If doing by hand, make a well in the middle and slowly add your water and oil (mix the two together in your measuring jug), add a little at a time, mixing with your hand as you do until it sticks together as a dough, but not too sticky. If using a mixer, then just gently mix the water and oil, bit by bit, then once combined turn up the mixer to a low - medium setting and knead with a dough hook until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, knead by hand for about 10 mins, again until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a tea towel and allow to rise somewhere warm for about an hour, until doubled in size. If you make the dough the night before you can leave it to rise in the fridge over night - a great tip!
  4. Now knock back the dough again for a few minutes, by hand is fine, then split the dough into 8 pieces. Shape into rounds, add seeds etc if you wish, then place on a lightly floured baking tray, cover with a tea towel and again allow to rise, it will take 30-60 mins. Preheat your oven now to 220c.
  5. Once ready place the rolls in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes, until they have risen and are golden, to check they are ready you can tap the bottom and it should sound hollow. Allow to cool a bit at least before tucking in! Delicious :)
