Get in the Christmas spirit with these tasty treats! You can decorate these and then hang them on your Christmas tree, or they make sweet little gifts.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, ginger and cinnamon into a mixing bowl. Add the sugar and butter, and rub in with your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Mix the golden syrup and egg together, then stir into the flour mix with a spoon. Brinf it all together with your hands and knead very gently to form a smooth, stiff dough. Shape into a ball and cover with clingfilm, pop it in the fridge for about 30 mins. Preheat your oven to 180c.
  3. Now roll out the dough to about 3mm thick, and cut into stars (or of course any shape you fancy!). If you fancy making them into tree decorations, remember to make a little hole at one end so you can string some ribbon through to hang them with.
  4. Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a rack and then you can decorate them as you like! Enjoy. :)
