A delicious and colourful pasta dish, easy enough for a quick midweek meal

  1. Preheat the oven to 200c, 180c (fan) or gas mark 7. Cook the pasta for 10 mins, according to instructions.
  2. While the pasta cooks, toss the broccoli, garlic, chilli, lemon zest and half of the Parmesan (or pecorino), drizzle over 2tbsps of olive oil and stir well until everything is coated. Spread evenly in a large non stick baking tray and roast for 6-8 mins, until the broccoli is tender and just beginning to brown.
  3. Reserve 100ml of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta completely. Return the pasta to the pan, stir in the broccoli, reserved cooking liquid, the remaining oil and most of the basil leaves.
  4. Spoon into bowls, sprinkle with the remaining pecorino and basil and season with pepper.
