Fish in beer batter

Make your own fish and chips with this easy recipe. If you have kids get them involved, they will love getting messy, and will love the results! My children love these, more than fish from the chip shop. Healthier too as they are shallow fried.

  1. Season the fish, and dust lightly with flour. Sift the remainiung flour, salt and pepper into a bowl, then add the lager and whicsk to give a thick batter. It should be the consistency of double cream.
  2. Coat the fish, and cook in very hot oil for 8-10 minutes, if you are shallow frying cook for approx 4-5 minutes each side, turning carefully. Serve with some homemade chips and homemade mushy peas.
