Cheats fish pie

This is a quick, and easy option for a tasty fish pie. I have the fish pieces in the freezer so it always a good back up… I sometimes add some prawns too. Fish pie is one of my little ones favourites but there is not always enough time in the day, so this is a great quick easy fish pie recipe.

This is a quick, and easy option for a tasty fish pie. I have the fish pieces in the freezer so it always a good back up... I sometimes add some prawns too. Fish pie is one of my little ones favourites but there is not always enough time in the day, so this is a great quick easy fish pie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 Fillets Fish In Butter Or Parsley Sauce You can get these prepared in the freezer section at the supermarket, usually the sauce is simple with nothing nasty!
  • 5 Large Potatoes Peeled, chopped into large chunks
  • Salt And Pepper For the mash
  • 1 Tbsp Milk For the mash

Instructions

  1. Peel your potatoes and boil for about 15 mins, drain and mash with the milk, salt and pepper. Boiled the fish as per instructions, usually in the bag for 15 mins or so. Once cooked remove the fish, and place at the bottom of a little baking dish. Break into pieces with a fork, add prawns or any other cooked fish at this stage. Top with the mashed potato, a sprinkle of cheese and bake in the oven until the cheese is melted. Serve with a generous portion ofyour favourite veg.
  2. You can of course do this by using pre made sauce / white sauce from the freezer. Just cook the fish then mix with the sauce, straight into your dish.
