This is so simple and always a winner.  Really cheap too if you can pick your own berries.  Such a nice treat at the end of the summer.  :) Enjoy!

Blackberry (Bramble) Crumble

This is so simple and always a winner. Really cheap too if you can pick your own berries. Such a nice treat at the end of the summer. :) Enjoy!

  1. Put your berries in a pot with the sugar and a splash of water. Cook this on a medium heat for approx 10-15 minutes. This should thicken and be a good consistency for your filling.
  2. In a bowl, rub the flour, sugar, oats and butter together to make the crumble topping. It will be like slightly sticky breadcrumbs in texture. Again, you can taste this to make sure you are happy, add more sugar if needed, and more butter if you think it is too dry, more flour or oats if too moist.
  3. Put your berry mix in an ovenproof dish, then top with the crumble mix. Put in the oven for approx 25-30 mins. It will become nice and golden on the top. Serve with cream, or custard for maximum satisfaction!!
