Great pudding for the winter months. I often make the filling, and then freeze it so it's just ready for topping - nice and easy.

  1. Peel, and chop your apples into chunks. Put into a pan, with a splash of water, sugar and cinnamon if using. Cook until the apple is soft - taste and add extra sugar if it is too tart.
  2. In a bowl, rub the flour, sugar, oats and butter together to make the crumble topping. It will be like slightly sticky breadcrumbs in texture. Again, you can taste this to make sure you are happy, add more sugar if needed, and more butter if you think it is too dry, more flour or oats if too moist.
  3. Put your apple mix in an ovenproof dish, then top with the crumble mix. Put in the oven for approx 25-30 mins. It will become nice and golden on the top. Serve with cream, or custard for maximum satisfaction!!
